The Baptistas went top of the table for the first this season (we'll forget the fact that Molesey have 3 games in hand) after a typically close match against old friends and rivals CS United.
A 2-0 scoreline flattered the Baptistas at halftime, thanks to some fairly frantic defending from the back four. CS United were determined to get goals in the 2nd half and finally broke through with a penalty just after the hour mark. Despite pegging the Baptistas back for mcuh of the rest of the game they failed to convert their chances.
Man of the Match Corey Lamothe put in a match winning performance between the sticks, making a string of fine saves... As the final whistle went the Baptistas rose to the top of the pack for the first time this season.
An away trip to 2nd placed Molesey on saturday is a must win fixture if the Baptistas are to stand any chance staying top.
